According to Sofia Echo, the 2010 Summer Season in Bulgaria’s Ski Resort Borovets will be open with a new mountain bike park. The mountain bike trails have been marked throughout the forest (around 20 km) and they have varying degrees of difficulty. There are no age boundaries and children must wear a helmet and be accompanied by a guardian.
The new mountain bike park has a downhill slope of 2.2 km in length and about 400m inclination from start to finish. The slope is recommended to professional riders since it is marked with an extremely hard difficulty level.
The park will be serviced by the Sitnyakovo express lift, a daily pass for the lift being sold at the price of 20 BGN. The official inauguration of the 2010 Summer Season will take place on the 19th of June (Saturday).
Borovets is a Bulgarian mountain resort within the Sofia region on the northern slopes of Rila, at an altitude of 1350m, about 10 km from Samokov, 73 km from Sofia, and 125 km from Plovdiv.
